Wharton Police Detectives have secured a second arrest warrant related to the deadly Thanksgiving shooting for Nathaniel Allen, 26, of Wharton, for the alleged offense of Capital Murder.
Nathaniel Allen, along with Daveon Allen, are now both in the custody of the Wharton County Jail.

On the evening of Thanksgiving while most were heading to bed with fully bellies and thankful hearts, the Wharton Police Department was dispatched to the Meadows Apartment complex in Wharton in reference to a shooting.
Law enforcement arrived on or around 11:45 p.m., to 501 W. Willow Ln. to find Larry Joe Guerra, 25, of Wharton shot.
The victim was transported to the Oak Bend Emergency Room where he died from his injuries.
Persons of interest were identified and leads pursued.
WPD detectives announced a murder/homicide warrant for Daveon Allen, 27, of Hungerford was obtained for his alleged role in the deadly shooting.
Allen was taken in to custody for the alleged offense, in addition to two outstanding arrest warrants for Aggravated Assault – Deadly Weapon and Cruelty to Animals/ Non-Livestock.
“A second person of interest is still being sought-after,” WPD said in a press release.

The County Gin will continue to closely follow this matter and report when information becomes publicly available.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
