Get ready to shop and support local; We’re bringing back Wharton Cash Mobs!

In 2019, Wharton Cash Mobs was created to take the idea of a dancing flash mob, and turn it toward the promotion of local small businesses. Instead of sweet dance moves, mobbers brought cold, hard cash to “targeted businesses” in order to support small business owners.

Mobbers made registers ring, promoted four local brick and mortar stores, but more importantly, created an immediate economic stimulus and an everlasting unity within the community. Well, we’re back and ready to spread even more love in the form of dollar bills to Wharton’s small businesses!

What is a Cash Mob?

Cash mobs encourage members of a community to make a change and help support a local business. Mobbers typically spend $20 at the business being “mobbed.” Not only are cash mobs helping local businesses achieve financial success, but they are also creating a fun, involved movement within the community.

In this version, we announce a time, date, and target location (a local small business) and our group of cash mobsters show up with $5, $10, or – heck – $100+ ready to purchase something from the surprised business.

We want to fill entire shops for 2-hour spans and make those registers ring for 120 minutes non-stop.

Our first wave of cash mobs will take place every Thursday in November 2021 from 4:30 – 6:30pm, leading up to the final cash mob on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 27th.

Get ready to shop and support local!

If you’d be interested in being part of these efforts in any way (a mobber, a mob location, or giveaway sponsor), LET US KNOW BY FILLING OUT THIS FORM: https://forms.gle/v4iCCuvSMqcyE8X98

WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO BECOME A MOBSTER?

• Watch for the target announcement in the Wharton Cash Mobs group and via email to those who signed up using our form.
• Show up with money to spend.
