2020 Boling ISD School Board Election; meet your candidate

The County Gin reached out to each candidate that filed for a position on the Boling Independent School District Board of Trustees, requesting a short bio and photograph.

Boling ISD Board of Trustees Position 5

Seferino Jimenez, Position 5 (Incumbent)

Seferino Jimenez, Position 5 (Incumbent)

I would like to start off by thanking the employees of Boling ISD for their dedication and loyalty to the education of our students during the hardest times I have encountered during my 20 years of service to Boling ISD. As a board member, I have held several positions on the board, to presently serving as the Vice President. I have been fortunate to have been a part of Boling ISD starting as a student in the first grade. I consider it an honor to be the Vice President. The wellbeing of our employees and the education of our students is of utmost importance to me, and I have dedicated myself to achieving that goal. I sincerely hope to continue serving the Boling ISD community, if the voters allow me to do so. I will be grateful for the opportunity. Please continue to be safe and Boling proud.

John Beeson, Position 5

John Riley Beeson, Position 5

My name is John Beeson and I have been a part of the Wharton/Boling Community since 1989. After I graduated Wharton High School in 2003, I went to the US Navy and served proudly for 5 years aboard the USS Kitty Hawk and Tinker AFB. I graduated from Texas State with a BBA in Accounting in 2010 and a few years later we moved back to the Wharton/Boling area. I am centered by my family, Lacey, Hayden and Luke, that keep me laughing and going every day. I am running for Boling ISD School Board Pos. 5 to help and keep Boling ISD moving in the positive direction that is it currently going. I wish to try and take the district to new heights, by implementing new goals.

Shawn Chilek, Position 6 (Incumbent, Unopposed)

I grew up in Boling, Texas, attended Boling ISD and came back home to live and work here soon after graduating college. I became a member of the BISD School Board because I wanted to help ensure that Boling ISD continues to be a place where our students are afforded every opportunity to succeed, and a place that they want to return to in order to raise their own families. I am extremely proud of all the former students that are on our staff, and all the former students who now have children in the district themselves. I am very thankful for the voters who afforded me this opportunity and look forward to helping to keep BISD as one of the best school Districts for years to come. I will do everything that I can to help guide the decisions that continue to increase the quality of education, programs, and facilities available to our students in our unique community.
